  • Our lab is interested in exploring the molecular mechanisms of adaptive responses of airway epithelial cells against various exogenous and/or endogenous insults, for a fuller understanding of respiratory diseases. Using this understanding, we are in the process of developing etiology oriented rather than symptom oriented bedside therapeutics.

    Major Directions

    1. To understand the basis of steroid resistance in asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
    2. Combining immunology with mitochondrial biology to dissect the mechanisms of epithelial cell dysfunction and develop mitochondrial medicine in respiratory diseases.
    3. To understand the molecular basis for the link between respiratory diseases and lung cancer.

To understand the basis of idiopathic lung fibrosis.

  • We are setting a new lung pathobiology laboratory. So we expect smart hard working students to fight against lung diseases as a team. It would be nice to have own fellowships.
