Cell Biology & Physiology

Mission & Objectives

This division deals with systems and cell biology, investigating subcellular organelles and intracellular signaling events in normal physiology and in disease. Major interests are in the area of neurological diseases, reproductive physiology and control of reproduction, cardiac hypertrophy, diabetes and some metabolic and parasitic diseases. This division has also the mandates to identify mechanistic understanding of importance of gene expression in regulation of mammalian cell physiology and disease pathogenesis. We are also involved in mechanistic understanding of eukaryotic transcriptional regulatory mechanisms and its implication in several cancer disease pathogenesis including various solid tumors as well as leukemia.
