Major Achievements in CSIR-IICB

The Institute was established in 1935 as the first non official centre in to carry out basic biomedical research and was taken over by CSIR in 1956. CSIR-IICB today, by its mandate, is engaged in research on diseases of national importance and certain biological problems of global interest.
CSIR-IICB is putting emphasis on quality basic research, on projects having applied potential and is looking forward to a successful Industry-Institute liaison towards closer partnership.
