Dr. Somenath Roy Chowdhury of CSIR-IICB receives the Young Scientist Platinum Jubilee Award 2020 of the National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI)

Congratulations, Dr. Somenath Roy Chowdhury of CSIR-IICB for receiving the Young Scientist Platinum Jubilee Award 2020 of the National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI) in the field of bio-medical, molecular biology & biotechnology. 

Dr. Roy Chowdhury is selected for the award for his contribution in developing DNA Topoisomerase(s) targeted anti-leishmanial chemotherapy. He has elucidated the roles of two proteins TDP1 and MRE11 which are involved in topoisomerase induced DNA damage repair process in parasites.
